Micromax Bharat 5 was launched in India on Friday, the latest low-cost 4G smartphone from the domestic brand. Besides its low price point, the Bharat 5’s biggest highlight is its massive 5000mAh battery. There is also a bundled data offer, announced in partnership with Vodafone. The smartphone will only be available to buy via offline retailers in the country. The company at its launch event also announced that it will launch more smartphones in its Bharat-Series, with the Bharat 5 Plus and Bharat 5 Pro planned to be launched in the next two months. The company also said it hopes to sell over 6 million Bharat-Series smartphones by March 2018.
With Bharat series, Micromax is truly helping the Indian consumers be digitally connected and make their experience more affordable and accessible. Bharat 5 like its predecessors will truly drive the next phase of smartphone adoption in the country, as a smartphone with 5000 Mah battery is pivotal for a market like India where the tier 3-4 cities still face severe power outage issues. Going ahead as well, we will be coming with compelling product propositions based on the needs of our consumers in the affordable smartphone segment.
