Everything you need to know about Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL – Features, Price, availability etc

Google’s new smartphones, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have been launched and the event took place in San Francisco. These smartphones are successors to Pixel series which came last year. The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will be available in Canada, Australia, Germany, US, UK, and India. The starting price of Pixel 2 has been kept at $649 and base model of Pixel 2 XL is priced at $849. Pre-orders for the smartphones have been started from today in the US.

The smartphone has Edge Sense-like technology, according to which if user squeezes the sides of smartphone then it performs different tasks. It also has Google Lens Feature which takes photo and extracts texts.

Google’s Pixel devices will be tough competition for Apple’s iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6 and other smartphones in the market. There are some improvements in the design like there are slim bezels same as Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8. Both the smartphones have an aluminum body and front-facing stereo speakers.

The Pixel 2 has a 5 inch and Pixel 2 XL has 6 inches full HD display. The smartphones have Android Oreo and are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor. They have 4GB of RAM and, comes with 64GB and 128GB storage variant. There is a 12.3-megapixel rear camera with HDR and 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone has an IP67 certification which proves it’s water and dust resistance capacity. Talking about the battery which is 2700 mAh and both the smartphones have NFC, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.

Indian Price and availability were also announced soon after the event in the US.

The Smartphones will be exclusively available online via Flipkart and will be up for pre-orders in India on October 26. The Pixel 2 will be up for sale beginning November 1, at the same time as the Pixel 2 XL will hit the retail shelves beginning November 15. The phones can also be bought at leading retail channels with over one thousand+ offline stores
